Case Study 1: Unstructured Data Projects – Ahead of the Curve
Challenge
Fifteen years ago, long before today’s automation tools, organizations still struggled with how to manage unstructured, paper-based data. One client had thousands of motor-related job cards — odd-sized, handwritten, and stored in paper form — making it slow and error-prone to bid jobs accurately.
Solution
We partnered with a local company that built scanning and OCR technology for the U.S. Census. We had them scan the job cards, then structured the resulting data into a relational database system. This enabled fast, reliable queries while linking each record back to its digital card image.
Regulated Process and Communications
In another project, we applied similar principles to automate regulated notifications and letters. Long before tools like Power Automate existed, we leveraged available technologies to generate thousands of time-sensitive notifications, guaranteeing delivery and eliminating manual burden.
Outcome
-
Enabled quicker, more accurate processes with digital records.
-
Automated compliance notifications, removing human error.
-
Improved efficiency and reliability years before mainstream tools caught up.
