THINKDATA SOLUTIONS, INC. DATA ANALYST APPRENTICESHIP REGISTERED WITH THE ALABAMA OFFICE OF APPRENTICESHIP

BIRMINGHAM, AL – ThinkData Solutions, Inc., an Alabama-based company and leading provider of customized solutions to data and technology related challenges, officially registered as an apprenticeship program with the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship on August 18, 2023.

The mission of the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship is to expand the use of registered apprenticeships (RAs) and promote all forms of work-based learning for providing high-quality career training which will enable workers and employers to prosper in pursuit of the continued economic development of the state. ThinkData Solutions, Inc., is excited to be a part of that mission by providing career paths for those who seek work in the field of data analysis.

“We have had so much success with our past partnerships to get data education to people so they could have a career. People often say we do not have the talent locally, I don’t agree,” said ThinkData Solutions, Inc., co-founder Robin E. Hunt. “We need to consistently identify technical aptitude and move on to equipping people with training and education. We also believe in technical certification. We believe in certification to do a job that is both technical and business by nature.”

“Not everyone can learn everything from a video, until they have a certain level of skill and it’s the right video. Having an apprenticeship that is married with assessments of competency and actual real work experience for a company doing data is for most people going to be a game changer,” Hunt added.

This program will develop much-needed data talent in the state and offer its apprentices better career opportunities. Apprentices earn stackable industry certifications that prove the mastery of competencies. Employers of the apprentices gain talent that can analyze and report on complex datasets, adhere to oversight and data quality standards, and perform other work to transform business requirements that support data-informed decisions. The apprenticeship doesn’t just benefit job-seekers, but employers as well.

“I think we have the potential to grow our local companies by giving them more access to their own data through projects that data apprentices will be able to work on with them throughout their projects. I also think our experience in data will allow us to help our sponsor companies to identify the real data skills they need on their team at any given time,” Hunt said. “This skills-based model will allow us to help them to always be considering the skills required for a data role in their company. This helps companies really tackle data roles from a totally different perspective – the skills perspective.”

Robin E. Hunt has spent more than 20 years inspiring people to think something new about their everyday work life, and has shown where her love of data can help them improve it. As co-founder and partner of ThinkData Solutions, Inc., she works to encourage people to invest in themselves and never stop learning.
