One of my greatest challenges over the last several years is to create a practical definition of what a data analyst is. I believe the reason for this is because in every organization they are defined differently, they don’t have a consistent title across all industries or even in the same organization.

The truth is that I have been discovering data analysts by their aptitudes for decades. When you are given an opportunity to train data at an organization, at any level, the people with data analysis skills stick out. It’s because data analysts work with data all the time, they have an approach, but because we lack a true definition… they may also lack a few of the skills that would truly round them out as a data analyst.
